The Fading Light w. David Scullion (2019)
Sat 9th – Sun 10th November
David presents “The Door”
This workshop, will present an integrated approach to the practice of Yoga, with the intention to deepen one’s understanding of the experiential, philosophical and practical application of yoga and meditation.
This dynamic practice, aimed at discovering balance within an inactive body and over active mind, through pranayama and intelligently sequenced asanas so that we can begin to feel the relationship between posture and awareness, between effort and equanimity, releasing ones natural breath, untying the physical and mental knots in preparation for a guided insight meditation.
The spiritual path can be a confusing one. Here we will attempt to uncover within these ancient practices what is of true and lasting value. Yoga, if understood and applied correctly, has a major role to play in addressing the mental health issues on the rise in this country. Mindfulness is a skill to be cultivated. Your mind is all you have, it’s what you share in every moment with the world.
Daithí presents “Rest & Digest”
A deeply restful, rejuvenating and restorative workshop incorporating Yin & Restorative Yoga, ending with a blissful Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep). The workshop is designed specifically to stimulate the body’s parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) which is also known as the “Rest & Digest” aspect of our autonomic nervous system.
The Yin & Restorative yoga elements will bring the mind and body close to a state of total relaxation. Yin yoga poses are passive floor poses that work mainly on the lower part of the body. The poses stimulate the meridians of the body, balancing the body’s internal organs and systems. The workshop concludes with Yoga Nidra, or Yogic Sleep. Yoga Nidra is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, in which the body is completely relaxed.
