I love Freediving.
Freediving is a form of underwater diving that relies on breath-holding until resurfacing rather than the use of breathing apparatus such as scuba gear.
Besides the limits of breath-hold, immersion in water and exposure to high ambient pressure also have physiological effects that limit the depths and duration possible in freediving.
I found Freediving by accident in Bali in 2017. It’s the perfect marriage of my life-long infatuation with water (I have a Masters degree in Water Engineering!) and my love of yoga & meditation. I was feverishly hooked after taking the SSI Level 1 course at Apneista in Amed, Bali and returned 3 months later to complete the SSI Level 2 course.
I have since converted to the AIDA system and completed my AIDA Level 3* and 4* (Master Freediver/Assistant Instructor) with One Breath Freediving (Malta).
I sense great potential in the combination of Yoga, Art Therapy and Freediving in the treatment of trauma. Any day now, I’ll make it to Dahab to complete my instructor training . Stay tuned.
